Owens Video Club is a weekly, online video club dedicated to sharing short videos made by artists with connections to Sackville, New Brunswick, and Atlantic Canada. From June to July, new videos examining our fragile co-existence with the natural world will be streamed every Thursday and available online for one week.
Periodically a friend of the Owens is invited to select a work or two, or sometimes three from the Owens' collection. These community members, students, staff and faculty share their own perspectives and connections to works that they pick and to the collection overall.
Owens Art Gallery and Struts Gallery & Faucet Media Arts Centre are excited to announce Umbrella Projects, a new collaborative venture designed to pool our resources, energies, and respective strengths in order to facilitate new, innovative, off-site programming for the next twelve months.
This Virtual Companion to the exhibition on Applied Arts at Mount Allison University from 1906 to 1960 provides documentation of all the work on display, as well as behind the scenes of the exhibition, along with oral histories, archival photographs and preparatory drawings for design work from graduates of the Applied Arts program.
